Perfectly Imperfect

This weeks inspiration is Black and White.

I love Black and White photos. They are so classic and beautiful.

By converting an image into black and white you can also easily "fix" an image.  Salvage those imperfect images by 'hiding' the clutter, or other composition problems that mean some images do not work straight out of the camera (SOC).
I love the versatility of B&W too. I  find that B&W can  help convey the mood of your image from cool dramatic B&W to softer creamy warmer tones.

I take a lot of what I call perfectly imperfect images. They are images that are completely and utterly imperfect from composition problems that cannot be fixed by cropping,  to focus and light issues. Cause, you know, sometimes life does not allow perfect conditions and well frankly I prefer to capture moments that I want to remember.

The series above is a classic perfectly imperfect "saved" (to my eye) by some B&W magic in photoshop.

Despite "testing" to see if we were in the frame and in focus, by the time the series of images were taken using our remote,  I was laughing so much that we were moving about (I have a full body laugh not some contained polite chuckle :) ) and we had moved out of focus!!

Here is the series SOC. (I know right very imperfect but I loved the moment the images captured and wanted to print and frame it if possible).

Here is the series with a bit of quick and dirty processing to see if I could manage to salvage some of the images. I could see that could be saved enough for my low standard,  but needed a little bit more help...

B&W to the rescue and now I have a series I love and to remember this moment xox

What a huge difference the b and w makes! I love this series of photos but the colour change really makes more of the images.

I love b&w too ... sometimes it just works so much better than colour.

It is amazing what b&w can do - but I also like the second set of color photographs - they have a sort of poloroid effect to them.

When I look at your pictures I am awed by the insight and skill it takes to "save" and know what is worth saving. Wonderful series.
